UI Learning and Development/E-Learning

E-Learning Programs

What is E-Learning?

E-Learning allows you the ability to access online courses 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from any internet-based computer. UI Learning & Development offers access to two e-Learning programs: Learning Online with SkillSoft and University-specific online courses located within My Training (ICON). Whether you’re looking to develop a new skill or need instruction on a University-specific online course, e-Learning is the key! Discover the ease and flexibility that 24/7 internet access can offer.

Courses will differ in content, length, and the types of evaluation (quizzes, performance, simulations, etc.), and once you register for a course you are on your way.

What is Learning Online with SkillSoft?

UI faculty, staff, and students using an internet based computer, have unlimited, “24/7” access to over 2700 courses and over 9300 books through Learning Online with SkillSoft at no charge. In addition to courses and books, there are convenient Simulations, Job Aids, SkillBriefs, Express Guides, Mentoring and Test Prep Exams.

SkillSoft is the world’s largest E-Learning company and their instructional design model is based on concepts of performance-oriented instruction and mastery. This design draws on adult learning principles emphasizing learner initiative, self-management, and experiential learning. Books24x7® Referenceware® is an online collection of professional books, searchable by business or IT topics, authors, or titles. This is an excellent research tool, allowing users to read entire books online, or one or two chapters as needed!

If you'd like to explore how to use Learning Online with SkillSoft more effectively, either read the User's Guide, or explore the Preview.
