What is Learning Online with SkillSoft?
After October 29, 2012 our SkillSoft resources will be unavailable.
We are reviewing e-learning providers that can meet the changing needs of our campus, and have narrowed down the possibilities to SkillSoft and MyQuickCoach (AthenaOnline.com).
If a decision is made to continue an agreement with SkillSoft, we anticipate minimal disruption in their service, only a change in what the e-learning services they provide to us. If it is decided that we will partner with MyQuickCoach, we expect a period of time will be needed to establish the technological framework and communication to support their platform. We are working to minimize any possible disruption in service. During this time, access to lynda.uiowa.edu and online resources provided through UI Libraries will remain available.
Due to shifts in financial sourcing for this e-learning project, students would not be covered regardless of which vendor is selected. Student access to lynda.uiowa.edu and online resources already available through UI Libraries will remain intact. E-book solutions are also being explored by UI Libraries, and when a provider is selected for that service all faculty, staff and students will have access to those offerings.
