Forum addresses diversity

The University’s Diversity Committee is sponsoring a forum, "Enhancing faculty and staff diversity: Challenges and opportunities." The event will take place from 3 to 4:30 p.m., Feb. 8 in the Senate Chamber of the Old Capitol. All members of the University community are encouraged to attend.

The objective of this forum is to increase the scope of campus dialogue about diversity issues—the challenges they create as well as the rewards they provide. Through dialogue it is possible to share information and knowledge about diversity.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Bob Foldesi, associate vice president for human resources. Panelists will include William Hines, dean of the College of Law; Diane Finnerty, diversity resources coordinator, Office of Affirmative Action; Phyllis Chang, associate professor, Department of Surgery; Lee Vasquez, program consultant, Business Services; Dave Jackson, assistant to the associate vice president, Facilities Services Group; and Janice Simmons-Welburn, director for human resources and processing services, University Libraries.
