Faculty and Staff Services and UI Behavioral Health have entered a partnership to form the UI Integrated Employee Assistance Program. Other collaborating resources include the UIHC Chemical Dependency Center and UI Counseling Services. The partnership will offer employees a wider range of services, including enhanced work-site opportunities and supervisory consultation, multiple counseling sites and counselors, and 24-hour phone triage services. Licensed and certified counselors are available to help with conflict and tension from job stress, interpersonal difficulties, and emotional concerns. Counselors also can address workplace conflicts, facilitate retreats, and help institute change in the workplace. Confidential, free counseling services continue to be available for faculty,
staff, and their families. For more information or referral, call (33)5-2085. Faculty, staff, students, and community members are invited to participate. The process requires filling out a few application forms and giving a small blood sample. Currently, about 3.8 million people are registered with the National Marrow Donor Program, a national registry that serves as a database for those seeking bone marrow matches. The Iowa Marrow Donor Program has 16,000 Iowans registered. One-third of all patients in need of a bone marrow transplant find a compatible donor in their families, leaving two-thirds to search for a match. The drive will be held from 11am-6:30pm, April 19 in the Kirkwood Room of the IMU. Project Marrow is a student organization affiliated with the Iowa Marrow Donor Program at UIHC. For more information, contact Laurie Robinson at (35)3-6347.
