Offices and Awards

Samuel L. Becker, professor emeritus of communication studies, subject of a special issue of the journal Communication Studies entitled, "Looking forward/looking back: Honoring Samuel Becker."

Louis Crist, director of the Office of Continuing Medical Education in the College of Medicine, recipient of the John F. Sanford Award from the Iowa Medical Society in recognition of outstanding contribution to the public health of Iowans and the medical profession.

Robert P. Kelch, dean of medicine, recipient of the Merit Award from the Iowa Medical Society for outstanding contributions to the medical profession and to the Iowa Medical Society.

College of Medicine, awarded the Silver Achievement Award by the American Academy of Family Physicians for its efforts in producing graduates who enter the specialty of family practice.

College of Nursing, awarded a Points of Presence award for its RN-BSN progression program from the Iowa Distance Learning Association.
