Dancing at home and away

Dancers in Company, the touring repertory ensemble of the University of Iowa dance department, presents its annual home concerts at 8 p.m., March 1-3, in the Space/Place Theatre of North Hall. The 12-member ensemble is chosen by audition and co-directed by faculty members Jeffrey Bullock and Charlotte Adams. Tickets for the event are available through the University Box Office in the IMU, (33)5-3041.

Hydraulics Institute is on the move

The Iowa Institute of Hydraulic Research (IIHR) has temporarily moved, due to renovations, from the Hydraulics Lab (HL) to the Brady Building, on the corner of Madison and Burlington Sts.

Mail should continue to be addressed to the Hydraulics Lab (HL). Campus Mail and the U.S. Postal Service will deliver all mail addressed to HL to the Brady Building location.

IIHR faculty and staff anticipate moving back into the Hydraulics Lab in December 2001.

Open forum for staff ideas

The University of Iowa Staff Council invites P&S and MSE/C staff to join President Mary Sue Coleman for a discussion session.

Participants are asked to bring lunch (beverages will be provided), questions, and ideas from noon to 1 p.m., March 20 in the Seebohm Conference Room, 283 EMRB.

Persons with disabilities who seek assistance in attending or participating in this event, should contact Bonnie McIntosh, (38)4-0792, two weeks in advance of the event.

Operations Manual available

The 2001 edition of the University’s Operations Manual is now available. New to this edition are policies on Flexible Scheduling (III-24), the Records Management Program (V-17.3), and the Emeritus Faculty Council (I-2.8(2)), as well as revisions of the Clinical Track policy (III-10.9) and the Information Technology Services policy (VI-3).

The 2001 edition is the last printed edition of the Operations Manual. As of January 2002, official University of Iowa policy will be articulated solely through the Operations Manual web site (www.uiowa.edu/~our/opmanual), where you will continue to find the most current statement of policy. The University community will continue to be notified of new policies through fyi and other publications.

For additional copies of the Operations Manual or to make corrections to the mailing list, contact University Communications and Outreach, 100 OPL, (38)4-0050.

Avoiding sweaty palms

  • One-on-one elder care guidance, information, and referral, 1 to 5 p.m., March 20. Schedule an hour-long session with staff from Elder Services, Inc., to discuss your elder care responsibilities.
