The University of Iowa School of Music will present a concert in honor of former percussion faculty member Tom Davis. Business seminars held for women

The Women’s Resource and Action Center, the Iowa Women’s Foundation, the Iowa City Public Library, and the Small Business Development Center will present a series of three seminars on starting your own business, 6:30-8:30pm, May 17, 24, and 31, in Meeting Room A of the public library.

The seminars will be "How to build a business plan," "Women, technology, and the small business," and "Financing a business." Participants may attend all three or only those that address their needs. Although the series is developed for women, men are welcome to attend.

Library book renewals

Books that are due June 1 and checked out on a faculty loan may now be renewed for the next academic year. Books may be returned to or renewed at any library (other than the Law Library or Curriculum Lab).

For an on-line list of books checked out to you, visit the InfoHawk web site at infohawk.uiowa.edu:4545/ALEPH and click on Personal Circulation Information. With an ID card, staff also can provide this list.



Screenings for skin cancer available

The Health Plans Office, in partnership with UI Wellness, is sponsoring free skin cancer screenings provided by faculty and staff from the Department of Dermatology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Screenings will available: 10am-2pm, May 16, Lucas-Dodge Room, IMU; 7-10am, 11am-1pm, 2-5pm, May 24, Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, (21271 PFP).

No appointment is necessary. For more information, contact the Health Plans Office at (35)6-8442.



Alumni memories to flood campus

The University of Iowa Alumni Association is inviting the UI classes of 1961, 1956, 1951, and prior to its Alumni Reunion Weekend 2001, June 7-10, on the UI campus. The theme of the reunion is "Making your memories reel."

A variety of programs and activities will be offered, including tours of the campus, the Old Capitol, the Museum of Art, and Hancher Auditorium, as well as hands-on workshops and faculty lectures as part of Alumni College 2001.
