On Oct. 19, the Board of Regents approved an increase in UI tuition and fees of 9.9 percent for resident students and 9 percent for nonresident students. So where will that money go?

Find out at www.uiowa.edu/~tuition. The site was established as part of President Mary Sue Coleman’s ongoing efforts to explain to students, parents, and the University community how Iowa plans to use the additional revenue.

Surfers can choose various topics to learn about the different areas that will benefit from the extra revenue. Click for details on increased financial aid, an increased four-year graduation rate, and improvements to buildings, technology, and services that will be funded by the tuition hike. There are also links to Iowa Board of Regents and University of Iowa Student Government sites about tuition from those groups’ perspectives.

So log on for a full accounting.
