The Committee on the Celebration of Excellence Among Women is accepting nominations for the 2001-02 Distinguished Achievement Award, which is given to a UI faculty or staff member who has distinguished herself or himself and the University through her or his accomplishments. Candidates should have significant years of service within the University community in a professional or service capacity; be pioneers in their work/service; and be considered role models for women and/or girls. The award will be granted at the annual Celebration of Excellence and Achievement Among Women at 4 p.m. March 27 in the Main Lounge, IMU. For a faxed copy of the nomination form, call (33)5-6148. should be sent by Feb. 5 to Jan Warren at 210 LC or jan-warren@uiowa.edu. The Office of the Provost has developed guidelines for annual reviews of probationary faculty. The guidelines were developed primarily for DEO use, but other faculty involved in the review process, as well as faculty who are being reviewed, may find them helpful. The UI Family Services Office administers a web-based housing-relocation service to assist newly hired faculty and staff to move to the Iowa City-Coralville area. Faculty and staff also may use the site to advertise their rental property.

Participants will learn how to use InfoHawk, the web-based library catalog system. Basic and advanced search features will be demonstrated. Dates and times for these hands-on workshops are 10-11am, Feb. 7; 2-3pm, Feb. 25; 9-10am, March 13; and 3-4pm, April 2. To register, stop by the Information Desk, first floor, Main Library,

The Department of Dance will be offering Saturday and weekday classes to children, students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding community through the Dance Forum Program. The program offers a full range of dance styles, including ballet, tap, jazz, and modern, as well as body conditioning. Continuing this session are classes during the week for young dancers interested in more intensive ballet training. These classes will meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 4 to 5:30pm for students ages 12 and above and from 5:30 to 6:45pm for students ages 10-12. Spring session classes will meet Feb. 2-May 4, with no classes during
