Staff Council presents December Longevity Awards

In July 2000, Staff Council implemented a service recognition program that acknowledges all P&S and Merit staff who have reached 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, or 50 years of continuous service at The University of Iowa. The Longevity Award program is funded by a portion of the Coca-Cola funds allocated to Staff Council programs. Longevity Award recipients receive a certificate and letter of appreciation from the President’s Office, issued during their anniversary month and distributed by their Human Resources unit representative. Award winners as of December 2001, and their current departments, are listed below.

25 years

Larry R. Akin, Central Sterilizing; Bruce Richard Barton, Hospital Stores; Robert T. Kempf, University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, shipping and receiving; Marybelle Luckason, Nursing Services; Rick Voss, Facilities Services Group.

30 years

Al Stroh, Facilities Services Group; Cheryl Ann Vahl, College of Medicine, cancer center.

35 years

Elaine Haddy, Human Resources; Reta Litton, College of Education, counseling, rehabilitation and student development.
