University rolls out more new stationery products

The Printing Department is prepared to print two new products containing the University’s new graphic identity. Examples of new memos and mailing labels can be found on the graphic identity web site at www.uiowa.edu/graphics.

There are four informal memos to choose from, two vertical styles and two horizontal styles. Many departments have ordered these assembled in pads in the past, but departments also may consider ordering them “two up,” which would allow users to create a computer template for the text portion of the memo and to print out the body of the memo onto the two-up memos from their own printers.

The new 5- by 3 1/3-inch mailing labels are adhesive peel-and-stick labels. Minimum quantity order for labels is 400 (100 sheets with four labels on each).

Within the next several weeks, a ProClick™ report cover with a reusable zip-on, zip-off binding will be available from the campus Document Services Centers. These report covers are designed for grant applications, reports, and conference materials. The front and back covers are pre-punched and the front cover has an open area for the document title page to show through.

By March 1, departments will be able to order electronic letterhead (a Microsoft Word document) through the Printing Department. If you’d like to be notified when this is available, send an e-mail to Lesanne Fliehler, director of University Relations Publications, at lesanne-fliehler@uiowa.edu.

Several products still are under development. They include folders, a preprinted brochure (such as those available from Paper Direct), and notecards. Letterhead, business cards, and envelopes have been available through the Printing Department since last fall. Ideas for additional products can be sent to lesanne-fliehler@uiowa.edu.

A final reminder: Between now and March 15, materials containing the old logo and wordmark may be reprinted. On March 15, when the new system is fully in place, the old identity system will no longer be available or allowed to be printed.
