Staff Celebration Day on the way

This year’s Staff Celebration Day takes the food and fun outdoors. “You and the U: An appreciation stafFEST” will be held from 3-6 p.m. on May 28 in Hubbard Park. The event is sponsored by Staff Council and UI WorkLife.

Activities will include a staff art show, benefit bingo games, University trivia, public safety demonstrations, free massages, a fishing pond, ice carving, and walking tours. Besides demonstrations and treats served up by the IMU chefs, there also will be popcorn, lemonade, and ice cream available. And those who can’t seem to get enough may join in a pie-eating contest. Entertainment will include music by the UI PanAmerican Steel Band and a speech by Mike Lorenzen, women’s gymnastics coach.

In case of inclement weather, festivities will move to the IMU Main Lounge. For more information, visit www.uiowa.edu/hr/worklife/staffceleb/index.html or contact Nancy Noyer at (33)5-0560 or nancy-noyer@uiowa.edu.
