Donald Black, psychiatry, selected for the NIH Adult Psychopathology and Disorders of Aging Study Section, Center for Scientific Review.

Harold Burkhart, cardiothoracic surgery, recipient of a certificate of recognition for compassion and kindness from Iowa Gov. Thomas J. Vilsack.

K.B. Chandran, biomedical engineering, elected a fellow of the Biomedical Engineering Society.

Jay Currie and Karen Farris, clinical and administrative pharmacy, received best manuscript in the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education for the year 2004.

Anne DiPardo, teaching and learning, elected a fellow of the National Conference on Research in Language and Literacy.

Linda Everett, UIHC administration, selected as a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing.

Gerald Gebhart, pharmacology, recipient of the 2005 Janssen Award in Gastroenterology from the American Gastroenterological Association.

Mary Gilchrist, university hygienic laboratory, appointed as panel member of the EPA Peer Review Panel for the Fellowship Research Program; and as a member of the Committee on Election to Fellowship of the American Academy of Microbiology.

Susan Johnson, obstetrics and gynecology, selected for a three-year term on the Federation of State Medical Boards editorial committee and as a member-at-large of the executive board of the National Board of Medical Examiners.

Sally Knipfer, Carver College of Medicine, elected chair-elect of the Dean’s Assistants Group of the AAMC Medical Schools.

Brad Phillips, clinical hospital pharmacy, appointed to the American Heart Association Vascular Biology and Blood Pressure/Regulation Peer Review Study Group.

Axel Ruprecht, oral and maxillofacial radiology, recipient of the Outstanding Service Award by the Iowa Dental Association.
