AchievementsUniversity staff and faculty are accomplishing great things every day. See Offices and AwardsWilliam Doucette, associate professor in the College of Pharmacy, was elected chair of the Economic, Social, and Administrative Sciences Section of the Academy of Pharmaceutical Research and Science in the American Pharmacists Association. Karen Farris, associate professor in the College of Pharmacy, was elected chair of the Social and Administrative Sciences Section of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. Meridean Maas, professor emeritus in the College of Nursing, received the Doris Schwartz Gerontological Nursing Research Award from the Gerontological Society of America. Axel Ruprecht, professor of oral pathology, radiology, and medicine in the College of Dentistry, was selected to serve on the editorial board of the European Journal of Dentistry. University of Iowa Foundation won six silver awards in the 2006 38th Annual ADDY Awards competition, sponsored by the Advertising Federation of Cedar Rapids. Awards were given for the What’s Next annual report on giving (and for the report’s photography), the “Good. Better. Best. Iowa!”campaign final report, the campaign’s victory celebration invitation package, the Engineering 2007 class gift poster, and the Kinnick Stadium rededication invitation.
