Recreational Services fits the bill

But maybe these efforts fizzled after the initial January rush. Or perhaps you simply haven’t gotten around to starting your new routine. There is good news: UI Recreational Services offers University of Iowa faculty, staff, and students—and the general public, for that matter—a variety of activities in facilities across campus, allowing people the opportunity to get in shape, learn new moves, make social connections, and have a little fun while they’re at it.

fyi asks: Big plans for Spring Break?

We're curious just what UI faculty and staff members think about spring break. Tell us how you spend spring break through this brief survey: https://survey.uiowa.edu/wsb.dll/243/springbreak.htm.

The Taking Flight exhibition on the third story of Macbride Hall features nests, skeletons, eggs, and much more that celebrates the world of birds, including an interactive computer station that plays hundreds of bird songs.

Darrell Wilkins

Born and raised in Tabor, a small town in southwest Iowa, Darrell Wilkins is a seasoned traveler who has visited all corners of the country and the world. Following his father into the auto dealership business might have seemed a natural career choice, but attending a funeral as a young child struck a deep chord for Wilkins and led to 20 years in funeral service. Ultimately, it brought him to The University of Iowa as program coordinator for the deeded body program in the UI Carver College of Medicine.

Wilkins talks to fyi about his day-to-day duties, what makes the program one of the best in the country, and his work in disaster response.
