Offices and Awards

Christopher Atchison, clinical professor of health management and policy in the College of Public Health, was appointed cochair of the Partnership for Better Health, a coalition of 21 Iowa organizations interested in encouraging U.S. presidential candidates to discuss and debate public health issues.

Bill Field, associate professor of occupational and environmental health in the College of Public Health, completed service on a Nuclear and Radiation Studies Board working group of the National Academy of Science; in addition, Field was selected by publisher ABC-CLIO as one of the world’s leading authorities on the health hazards posed by exposure to radon gas.

Murray Madsen, program consultant of occupational and environmental health in the College of Public Health, will serve on the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health’s Ag Forestry Fishing Sector Council.

Larry Robertson, professor of occupational and environmental health in the College of Public Health, will serve on the External Advisory Committee of the University of Texas–El Paso’s Border Biomedical Research Center.
