Tooth decay: Disease of disparity
In early March, 25 students from the College of Dentistry set up clinic in two local Wal-Marts and provided free oral health screenings and flouride varnishes to more than 200 children. Many of the children, some as old as 8, had never seen a dentist. But children aren't the only ones at risk. Michael Kanellis, assistant dean for patient care in the college, explains how the college reaches patients of all ages who need care.
