This tool will let you see the status and location of a class, get e-mail confirmations, withdraw from a class, check your course registration history, and even do online evaluations. June 13, TuesdayFinancial Well-Being: What Every Woman Should Know—noon-1 p.m. and 6:30-7:30 p.m.—The National Center for Women and Retirement Research estimates that 80-90 percent of women will be in complete control of their finances at some point in their lives. Attend this class to learn how to take control of your financial future. Understand how to meet the financial challenges of divorce or widowhood, understand financial information and terms, consider investment strategies, understand your risk tolerance, and learn tips for reducing taxes. June 15, ThursdayTIAA Traditional and TIAA Real Estate in a World of Stocks and Bonds—noon-1 p.m.—Comparing the guaranteed and real estate accounts offered by TIAA-CREF to stocks and bonds, this seminar will provide a better understanding of the options for diversifying your portfolio. We’ll discuss topics such as understanding asset classes, learning about TIAA Traditional and TIAA Real Estate, reviewing equity returns, understanding the importance of correlations, and using TIAA to diversity portfolios. June 16, FridaySexual Harassment and Violence: UI Policies & Resources—9-10 a.m.—This educational program examines sexual harassment (including sexual assault) as a form of sex discrimination and emphasizes the University’s Policy on Sexual Harassment. Participants will learn about specific behaviors that may be prohibited by the University policy, and their rights and responsibilities as a University community member. In addition, information about managers’ and administrative officers’ responsibilities for handling complaints of sexual harassment will be provided. This course is strongly recommended for all management and administrative officers on campus. Register by June 10. July 5, WednesdayProcurement Card Training—9-11 a.m.—Are you a new cardholder, current cardholder, or an expediter who needs a refresher on the purchasing guidelines for your procurement card? Receive thorough instructions on how to use the Procurement Card Web Application for voucher reconciliations and report creation. Register by June 29. July 7, FridayThe UI Anti-Harassment Policy—10-11 a.m.—Harassment of any member of the University community is prohibited. The purpose of the Anti-Harassment Policy is to prevent harassment within the University community and to provide a process for addressing harassment if and when it does occur. Register by July 1. July 11, TuesdayPerformance Review Process—10:30 a.m.-noon—Performance management happens every workday, not just at an annual review. You'll learn the seven steps necessary for managing performance, including how to conduct the annual performance review. You'll get a peek at the pool, fitness room, various courts, and more. Come learn about the many convenient facilities and programs available through the Division of Recreational Services. Traveling on UI-Related Business—2-4 p.m.—Everything you need to know about UI business travel, including a review of updated travel regulations, policies, and procedures, payment options, and how to process travel-related forms. This class is tailored primarily for support and administrative staff who are involved in making travel plans and reporting expenses, but it is also appropriate for UI travelers. July 13, ThursdayProTrav Training—1:30-3 p.m.—This course will provide departmental staff instruction on reconciling their UI Procurement card, as well as obtaining out-of-pocket reimbursement for travel that has been done on behalf of the University using the online application. This class will train the user on the functionality of the ProTrav application and participants will have an understanding of the concept of One Tool, One Location, One Source. Register by July 7. July 18, TuesdayProcure to Pay Training—9 a.m.-noon—This course provides an overview of the order and payment processes. Attendees will learn to complete an online Purchase Requisition (PReq) to outside vendors and will develop a better understanding of various voucher types.
