Offices and Awards

Kim Brogden, professor of periodontics in the College of Dentistry, received Fast Breaking Paper honors from Essential Science Indicators.

Jane Brokel, assistant professor in the College of Nursing, received the Teresa E. Christy Award from the Iowa Nurses’ Association.

Kathleen Buckwalter, professor in the College of Nursing,was appointed to serve on the Joint Task Force on Mental Health and Aging.

Kennith Culp, associate professor in the College of Nursing, was awarded fellow status to the Gerontological Society of America.

Jay Currie, professor in the College of Pharmacy, has been elected a fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.

Mike Kelly, associate dean for academic affairs in the College of Pharmacy, was elected chair of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists for 2006-2007.

Brad Phillips, associate professor in the College of Pharmacy, has been elected a fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.

Sara Rynes, professor of management and organizations in the Tippie College of Business, received the 2006 Herbert Heneman Jr. Award for Career Achievement from the Human Resources Division of the Academy of Management.

Linda Snetselaar, professor of epidemiology in the College of Public Health, was named nominating chair for the American Dietetic Association Research Dietetics Practice Group.

Charles Stanier, assistant professor of chemical and biochemical engineering in the College of Engineering, received the 2006 Sheldon K. Friedlander Award by the American Association for Aerosol Research.

Anita Stineman, assistant professor in the College of Nursing, current secretary of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Instructional Leadership Network, has been appointed to serve on an ad hoc committee to plan the January 2007 Faculty Development Conference.
