Offices and Awards
John Achrazoglou, director of the Educational Technology Center in the College of Education, received the C.S. Robinson Award from the American Association of School Personnel Administrators.
Rebecca Anthony, director of the Educational Placement Office in the College of Education, received the C.S. Robinson Award from the American Association of School Personnel Administrators.
Sandra Bowman Damico, dean of the College of Education, was elected vice-chair of the Midwestern Regional Educational Lab’s Executive Committee.
Ellen Cram, clinical assistant professor in the College of Nursing, was elected to the board of the Iowa Nurses Association and to chair their Public Policy Committee.
David Duys, assistant professor of counseling, rehabilitation, and student development in the College of Education, was elected to the Iowa Assocation for Counselor Education and Supervision.
The College of Education received Chapter of the Year and Sponsor of the Year awards from the Iowa State Education Association's Student Program.
The College of Education's School Counseling program received the Innovative Counselor Education Program Award for 2006 from the North Central Association for Counselor Education and Supervision.
Kirk Fridrich, professor of oral and maxillofacial surgery in the College of Dentistry, was named president of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Malik Henfield, assistant professor of counseling, rehabilitation, and student development in the College of Education, was appointed to the Iowa School Counseling Association's governing board.
Keela Herr, professor in the College of Nursing, served as the national spokesperson for Pain Awareness Month and the Global Year of Pain in Older Adults representing the American Pain Society.
Todd Ingram, clinical assistant professor in the College of Nursing, was elected president of the Iowa Chapter of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association.
Tarrell Portman, associate professor of counseling, rehabilitation, and student development in the College of Education, was one of 25 people selected to participate in the National Center for Education Statistics Institute on the 2005 National Indian Education Statistics Database.
Jodi Saunders, associate professor of rehabilitation counseling in the College of Education, was elected chair of the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification.
Kathy Schuh, associate professor of educational psychology in the College of Education, has been named a Distinguished Member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
Heather Spangler, associate editor in the College of Education Office of External Relations, received a first place in the General Features category in the Iowa Associated Press Managing Editors annual contest in the 10,001–50,000 circulation category.
Christopher Squier, associate dean for research and graduate studies in the College of Dentistry, was elected to the American Cancer Society Midwestern Board of Directors.
Jill Valde, clinical assistant professor in the College of Nursing, received the Region 4 Showcase of Excellence Certificate at the Sigma Theta Tau Chapter Leadership Academy in Indianapolis.
Susannah Wood, assistant professor of counseling, rehabilitation, and student development in the College of Education, received the Margaret, The Lady Thatcher Medallion from The College of William and Mary, School of Education.
