UI Wellness helps faculty, staff reach health goals
Maybe you resolved to resist your coworker’s candy jar, visit the Field House during your lunch break, or slim down before spring break. Whatever your health goals for 2008, you don’t have to take them on by yourself. Since 2006, more than 400 UI faculty and staff members have worked with a health coach, a free program offered through UI Wellness’s liveWELL program. Here are a few stories of those University employees who resolved to adopt a healthier lifestyle last year—and succeeded. Martin Luther King Jr. Human Rights Week in full swingThe University of Iowa will recognize Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Human Rights Week with several activities through Wednesday, Jan. 30. fyi asks: Is your office tricked out with trinkets?Pictures of family members. A framed print from a scenic locale. Motivational posters with beautiful photos. These items are commonly used to decorate a person's office or workspace. But some UI employees bring a unique sense of style to their cubes—and that's what fyi wants to hear about. Do you or someone you work with have an office with character? Is your partition plastered with pop culture? Visit http://survey.uiowa.edu/wsb.dll/505/bestoffice.htm and fill out a brief survey—you might be the subject of an upcoming fyi feature!
