Behavioral changes take shape at University's award-winning Circle of Courage School
Accolades are nice, as the educators in University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics’ Circle of Courage School can tell you. Last fall, they received an award from the Iowa City Human Rights Commission for their work with children dealing with mental or behavioral issues. But the teachers and staff at the school find similar reward in their everyday jobs, such as when they see their students respond to therapeutic techniques and stay on track in their educational lives. Video: Take in sights, sounds from 2008 Celebrating Cultural Diversity FestivalDance, song, and lots of good food—if reading a description of the University's Celebrating Cultural Diversity Festival is appealing, seeing and hearing action from the event should be quite tantalizing. (We apologize for not being able to replicate the mouth-watering smells from the various food displays.) Photo feature: Nanoscience and nanotechnologyThe Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Institute at The University of Iowa, established in 2006, focuses on issues related to applications and implications of nanoscience and nanotechnology in environmental processes and human health, as well as the fundamental properties of nanomaterials. The work being done inside the Iowa Advanced Technology Laboratory furthers the University's tradition of encouraging interdisciplinary research.
