Offices and Awards

Debashish Bhattacharya, professor of biological sciences in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, was named a 2007 Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Michael Flatté, professor of physics and astronomy in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, was named a 2007 Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Christine Grant, associate professor emerita of health and sports studies in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, named one of the 100 most influential sports educators in America by the Institute of International Sport.

Jennifer G. Robinson, professor of epidemiology in the College of Public Health, was elected to a one-year term as president of the Midwest Lipid Association.

Mark Stinski, professor of microbial virology in the Carver College of Medicine, was named a 2007 Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

The staff of the Connie Belin & Jacqueline N. Blank International Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development received the Distinguished Service Award from the Iowa Talented and Gifted Association.
