Christopher Atchison, associate dean for public health practice in the College of Public Health and director of the University Hygienic Laboratory, has been appointed to the Medical Home System Advisory Board established under Iowa's Health Care Reform Act. Jay Currie, clinical professor of clinical and administrative pharmacy in the College of Pharmacy, has been named this year's recipient of the American Pharmacists Association Distinguished Achievement Award in Community and Ambulatory Practice Pharmacy. Karen Farris, professor of clinical and administrative pharmacy in the College of Pharmacy, has gained membership in the National Quality Forum Steering Committee. Milan Sonka, professor and chair of electrical and computer engineering in the College of Engineering, has been named editor-in-chief of Transactions on Medical Imaging, a journal of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
