John Lundell, Injury Prevention Research Center deputy director, was awarded the Injury Control and Emergency Health Services' Special Service Award. Corrine Peek-Asa, professor of occupational and environmental health in the College of Public Health, assumed the role of president of the Society for the Advancement of Violence and Injury Research. She also received the Injury Control and Emergency Health Services' Excellence in Science Award from the American Public Health Association. Jennifer Robinson, professor of epidemiology in the College of Public Health, was appointed to the National Cholesterol Education Program Adult Treatment Panel IV and the Risk Assessment Working Group, which are part of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute's Clinical Guidelines for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction.
