Offices and AwardsGregory C. Gray, director of the Center for Emerging Infectious Diseases and professor of Epidemiology in the College of Public Health, received the Medal of Honor from Mongolia’s Minister of Health for health sector development and received the Peace Medal awarded by the president of Mongolia for research and prevention of communicable diseases. Malik Henfield, assistant professor of counseling, rehabilitation and student development in the College of Education, received the 2009 Deanna Hawes Outstanding Mentor Award from the North Central Association for Counselor Education and Supervision. Murray Madsen, associate director of the Great Plains Center for Agricultural Health, accepted the AgriWellness/Sowing the Seeds of Hope (SSoH) “Bringing Hope and Health to Rural Agricultural Community” award on behalf of the center at the SSoH Conference in Sioux Falls, S.D. Katie Porter, professor in the College of Law, received a 2009 Editor's Prize from the American Conference of Bankruptcy Judges. Ruth Spieker, clinical assistant professor of oral pathology, radiology, and medicine in the College of Dentistry, was inducted as a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. CoraLynn Trewet, assistant clinical professor in the College of Pharmacy, has been awarded Fellow status with the National Lipid Association. John Westefeld, professor of counseling psychology in the College of Education, was elected president of Division 17 (the Society of Counseling Psychology) of the American Psychological Association.
