InSite: UI Foundation features on-line giving

If you feel a hankering to support the University with a gift, it’s never been easier. Simply visit the University of Iowa Foundation’s new web site at www.uiowafoundation.org.

The fully redesigned site went live in May. Visitors are greeted first by pictures of UI students. As the mouse rolls over each picture, the student changes position. Then with a click, you can learn more about that student’s experience at Iowa, notably the ways in which private giving has helped them through scholarships and other programs.

Deeper into the site, there’s information on the priorities of specific colleges and programs, how gifts have helped the University and students generally, and current foundation news. A link for faculty and staff tells the benefits of donating to one’s own employer.

The site provides plenty of information about the nuts and bolts of giving. Employees who wish to have a monthly gift deducted automatically from their paychecks can click for a downloadable payroll deduction authorization form. And if that’s not fast enough, visitors can give on-line through a secure credit card transaction. The on-line gift feature was introduced in December and has netted more than $15,000 since the first of this year, much of that from new contributors.
