Nature Walk
In addition to the two public lectures, Dr. De Witt will also lead
a free nature walk on Saturday, April 15, 2000 9:30-11:00 a.m. at
the Squire Point Trails. To help us plan better, we request that those
who are interested call 341-0007 or email geneva@uiowa.edu
no later than Monday, April 10. The walk is tentatively scheduled
to meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Linder Point Campground parking lot.

Calvin "Cal" De Witt is Professor of Environmental Studies in the
University of Wisconsin's Institute for Environmental Studies. He
is author of papers in physiological ecology, wetland ecology, ecosystem
modeling, and environmental stewardship. He has also written and edited
several books including: Earthwise: A Biblical Response to Environmental
Issues (1994) and Caring for Creation (1998). His current
research is focused on the integration of science and environmental
ethics in application to praxis in secular and faith-based communities.
Dr. Dewitt is also Director of the Au Sable Institute of Environmental
Studies, an Institute based upon biblical stewardship principles that
offers environmental courses for college and university students at
five sites in three countries.
