Arthur F. Holmes taught philosophy and was chair of the department at Wheaton College until his retirement in 1994.  During his long and distinguished tenure at Wheaton which spans more than four decades, he stimulated and challenged the thinking of his colleagues and students in integrating academic training with their Christian faith.  Dr. Holmes is the author and editor of many books, including Contours of a World View (Eerdmans 1983), Ethics:  Approaching Moral Decisions (InterVarsity Press, 1984), The Making of a Christian Mind (InterVarsity Press, 1985), Faith Seeks Understanding:  A Christian Approach to Knowledge, All Truth is God's Truth, and Christian Philosophy in the 20th Century.  He is a frequent lecturer at colleges and universities and is a director of the Institute for the Advancement of Christian Studies.  Dr. Holmes' current interest is the history of the influence and contributions of Christians in higher education.
