Reverend Dr. John Polkinghorne, KBE, FRS, former president of Queen's College, Cambridge University, England, is a Fellow of the Royal Society and former professor of Mathematical Physics at Cambridge. He is Chairman of the Science, Medicine and Technology Committee of the Church of England's Board of Social Repsonsibility. He is a member of the General Synod of the Church of England, and of the Medical Ethics Committee of the British Medical Association. He is the author of many books, including The Faith of a Physicist and Beyond Science: The Wider Human Context and Belief in God in an Age of Science.
