THE GISIL

The Geographical Information Systems Instructional Lab (GISIL) is a state-of-the-art computer lab used to teach GIS, cartography and remote sensing. It is also used as a research facility for students and to conduct research into mobile geographical education (MoGEO) using personal data assistants (PDAs). The lab is also used to host visiting students who are considering a future at The University of Iowa. The Opportunity at Iowa program regularly brings high-school students in to look at the campus and the available facilities.
