Our Specimen Database can be searched via the Paleontology Portal website under "Collections." Please note that currently only 10% of our collection is available on-line! Only current species identifications are shown in the Paleoportal search.

   Specimens are catalogued using a SPECIFY Collections Management software, customized to our requirements by Specify staff at the University of Kansas. Approximately 10% of the collection has been entered so far, with emphasis on type and cited material and latest acquisitions.
  The Specify catalog has inherited some of the design of the previous DBase catalog that was used. As a result, cited specimens often have a separate record for each citation.

   We are currently editing records to our desired standards, and are working with Specify staff to create queries that work specifically with our version of the database.
