I am a PhD student studying Second Language Acquisition in the FLARE program (Foreign Language Acquisition, Research, and Education). I completed my M.A. in Teaching German as a Foreign Language (DaF) at the Herder-Institut at the University of Leipzig, Germany. During the period of my studies in Leipzig I taught German in various English-speaking countries, including the U.S., England, Australia, and New Zealand. Before I came to the UI, I worked as a German instructor at Juniata College, PA and finished my Certificate as Multimedia Designer for E-Learning/Learning Software in Leipzig. I am currently a teaching assistant and assistant coordinator in the German Department. My research interests include technology and its role in Second Language Acquisition (SLA), instructional design, developing educational multimedia, SLA theories, and foreign language pedagogy. When I am not busy with studying I try to spend as much time as possible in nature because I enjoy hiking and climbing. I also love working with clay and throwing pots.
