Of those applicants, 16,837 enrolled in degree programs at The University of Iowa. 24,562 students received some type of financial assistance to attend The University of Iowa for the 2005-2006 academic year (this includes all forms of need-based and no-need assistance from federal, state, institutional, and private sources, including research assistants, teaching assistants, and part-time student employment). This represents approximately 83% of the student population.
