Here at the
University of Iowa, you have two ways to get involved in Habitat for
Humanity: being a part of the UI chapter (helping raise money and
awareness) or volunteering with the local affiliate (building homes,
helping with building supplies, and helping around the office).

Become a part of the UI Habitat for
Humanity (UI HFH) student organization! |
|
● Meetings are held approximately every other week (see
our calendar
for exact times and locations).
● Starting this year, all members must complete a waiver to be
recognized as UI chapter membes. It can be downloaded
here.
● At least once each semester, we hold events to raise funds for student
builds and help raise awareness of housing issues.
● UI HFH is run by the Board of Directors which is composed of 6 elected
positions.
● Elections are held at the end of each semester, providing plenty of opportunities to
get leadership experience. |

| Our primary method of communication is via our

Get involved with the local
Habitat for Humanity affiliate! |
|
● The local affiliate is in charge of activities such as
student builds - houses which are built primarily by student
volunteers.
● If you have not previously signed up to volunteer
online,
register to volunteer.
● If you have, you can go to the volunteering page of
the local affiliate's website, then
follow the "Click Here to Volunteer!" link to see available
opportunities to volunteer.
●●● All builds offer chances for students to gain valuable construction
experience while earning
10,000 Hours Show
credit! |
