Spring: Fellowship and Teaching Applications

The links to the major Aid Application and Information about Fellowships for 2009-10 are below on this page. The first link has complete instructions for applying for the Ballard and Seashore and Social Science Dissertation Fellowships offered by the Graduate College, as well as the Department of History's own fellowships for dissertation research and writing. The second link has the Application Form for regular graduate instructor aid/jobs for the 2009-10 academic year. Please read the instructions carefully.

Collegiate and Departmental Fellowships, 2009-10 (linked to PDF with information)
On Friday, February 13, all materials for these fellowships are due in the main office (SH 280). You should read the instructions carefully, ask your advisor (and a second faculty member) for letters of recommendation, and provide everything required on or before the February 13, 2009 deadline.

Aid Application for Regular Teaching Jobs, 2009-10 (linked to Applicaton form)
This form is to be filled in, and the file saved by appending your last name and first initial to the file name as in the following example: "HeinemanE_AIDApplication2009.doc." The saved file is to be emailed as an attachment to the DGS (elizabeth-heineman@uiowa.edu) and Pat Goodwin (patricia-goodwin@uiowa.edu), on or before the due date: Friday, February 13, 2009. In addition to this form you should do these two things: 1) ensure that your advisor sends the DGS a short e-mail regarding your degree progress; and 2) submit the College's annual financial aid form, which is available in a printable PDF (click here for the Application for Graduate Awards form).
