Arthur Hoffman, MD, MPH

Dr. Hoffman is currently the Chairman of the Section of Preventative Medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. He holds academic appointments as Assistant Professor in both the Department of Preventative Medicine at Rush Medical College and the School of Public Health at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He has worked at Cook County Hospital for over 25 years and is a board certified physician in Internal Medicine, Public Health and General Preventive Medicine. Dr. Hoffman has received numerous grants in the areas of mindfulness based stress reduction, prevention of coronary disease, cancer screening and prevention, as well as stress reduction and smoking cessation. He has published numerous articles in professional journals and has developed a national reputation for his work in the area of mindfulness based stress reduction and health.
