Writing Fellows Program

Application for Writing Fellows Program

Do you enjoy writing and helping others with their writing?   Would you like to get paid for such an experience while learning more about the writing process?  If so, you should consider becoming a Writing Fellow.

Writing Fellows take an intensive Honors course in tutoring (Writing Theory and Practice 143:102) while they work with a professor and 10-12 students. Fellows comment on drafts of papers and meet individually with those 10-12 students to discuss their comments and suggestions for revisions. They receive an honorarium of $600 their first semester and $700 for the following semesters in which they “fellow.”

To apply, you need to be a sophomore or a first-semester junior (exceptional first year students will also be considered) available to take the Writing Theory and Practice course (143:102) in Spring, 2008, on Mondays from 3:30 to 5:20 p.m.  For more information on the program, go to http://www.uiowa.edu/~writingc/fellows
