Instructions for Obtaining a Department Check
Premium Processing (Available for H-1B, O-1, TN)
Premium Processing is an optional service provided by the USCIS that is available for H-1B, O-1, and TN applicants. For this additional fee of $1,000, the USCIS processes petitions in 15 calendar days as opposed to regular processing (which normally takes between 90 to 180 days). When the department imposes a start date that necessitates Premium Processing, the department must provide the additional fee; otherwise the department has discretion in determining financial responsibility.
