Union Item: Data on hours worked by 90% employees at UIHC
The following numbers for UI Health Care employees working at 90% for at least one day during the month of May 2013 were:
No additional hours:............................... 73
.1 to less than 10 hours: ....................... 255
10 hours to less than 20 hours:.............. 272
20 hours or more: ................................ 148
University Item: Creating “Tips” document with contract citation for 1st step grievances processing (Kroeze to lead subgroup)
Agreed this will be helpful input to educate campus. The subcommittee meeting is scheduled the week of 7/29/2013. Subcommittee will bring draft of recommendations to LMC for review and feedback.
University Item: Possible LMC at IRL
Josey Bathke talked with Michelle Kongable about scheduling a LMC meeting at IRL for a brief tour and talk about IRL’s business model. Josey awaiting response from IRL.
Union Item: We would like any new information regarding the impact of the privatization of Hawkeye and Hawkeye Dr. apts on the merit staff who work there. What outcomes are expected?
Staff spoken to individually on 7/17/2013. Majority will be reassigned in UH&D and a couple of merit staff received intent letters. Copies of the intent letters mailed to AFSCME Local 12 and AFSCME Council 61.
Union Item: We would like to announce our new University wide safety initiative.
Safety committee for AFSMCE Local 12. Safety issues have been brought to AFSCME and they want to bring it back to where the problem is. Want to see company-wide safety initiative rather than in one area. Diane Matthew Brown – safety officer for AFSCME will also be on this committee. AFSCME will share safety issues with the existing committees with FM and UIHC.
