Humanities Iowa, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, granted $1,000 to the Akron Public Library for a weekend long event titled “pRhyme Time on the Prairie”. The free poetry readings will include Mary Black bonnet, Phil Hey, and Jim Reese on Friday, April 15 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The event will also include an all-day workshop on Saturday, April 16 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
All events are open to the public. The poetry readings are free and a workshop fee will be charged for Saturday.
