Humanities Iowa, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, granted $1,400 to the Main Street Adel Chamber of Commerce for a statewide Iowa Book Fair. The book fair will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2010 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Adel Public Library in Adel, IA.
According to project director, Paula James, the festival will include Iowa authors and offer authors the opportunity to promote their own books free of charge for the event. The festival will also include IPTV KIDS Clubhouse host, a kids build-a-book workshop, and IPTV Resources for Parents Workshop.
"Reading is a wonderful tool that Iowans of almost any age can enjoy and we are pleased to provide support for projects that encourage the exploration of the stories for Iowans," said Humanities Iowa executive director, Christopher Rossi.
