Humanities Iowa, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, granted $2,150 to the La Porte City FFA Historical and Ag Museum for an exhibit titled “The Personal Face of War”. The exhibit will be on display from mid-April 2011 to December 2011, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A special guest speaker, David Snook, will speaking about the Civil War on Thursday, May 26 at 2:00 PM.
The exhibit will trace the local and state participation in wars from the Civil war to present day and feature uniforms, weapons, artifacts, story boards, letters, and interviews from veterans. The exhibit is open to the public and will include an admission fee.
