HI awards $3000 to the Scott County Reads Program

Humanities Iowa, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, granted $3000 to the Davenport Public Library for the Scott County Reads Together.  The event is scheduled for April 12 - 15 2010 and is free and open to the public.  Scott County Reads will be held in four cities: Davenport, Eldridge, Bettendorf, and LeClaire.

According to project director, Angela Campbell, the event hosted by "Libraries Together" will promote reading and discussion through a memoir by, University of Iowa graduate, John Price.

"Our organization is pleased to provide support events in the Quad Cities to increase literacy and discussion," said Humanities Iowa executive director, Christopher Rossi.
