$80,184: The amount the Humanities Iowa Board
members awarded for the first cycle of the 2010 Major
Grants. The grants were awarded during the November
Humanities Iowa Board meeting. The second major grants
cycle will be June 2010.
2010 MAJOR GRANTS 1ST CYCLE:

The following grants are listed in no
particular order.

$10,000 was awarded to the Greater
Quad Cities Tele communications
Corporation for a documentary titled
Country School: One Room - One
Nation.


$7,050 was awarded to the Geisler
Library of Central College for the
Geisler Library Writers Reading Series.

$4,000 was awarded to the
CommUniversity, Inc. for the 31st
Annual Celebration of Lifelong
Learning.

$10,784 was awarded to the African
American Heritage Foundation for the
20th Century American Experience.

MAJOR GRANTS
CONTINUED:


$4,500 was awarded to
Musser Public Library for the
Winter Faire at Redwall
Abbey.

$8,000 was awarded to the
Lewis and Clark Trail
Heritage Foundation, Inc.
for Engaging Today's Youth
in History and the
Humanities.

$5,000 was awarded to
The University of Northern
Iowa, Provost Office for the
Dalai Lama visit events.

MAJOR GRANTS

$5,000 was awarded to the
I'll Make Me a World in Iowa
for the I'll Make Me a World
in Iowa festival.

$10,000 was awarded to the
Facing Change: Documenting
America for the documentary
Lost Nation.

$8,350 was awarded to
Storytellers International for
the Train to Nowhere: Inside
an Immigrant Death
Investigation
documentary.

$7,500 was awarded to the
Des Moines Public Library
Foundation for the AViD
2010 lecture series.
