Fall Undergraduate Research
Festival (FURF)
..................................................................................................................................
Undergraduate students in ANY disicpline involved in research (at any stage of completion) can present their
work at the Fall Undergraduate Research Festival (FURF).
FURF allows students to highlight what they have accomplished, share their work with others, and gain presentation experience. Students present their work in a poster format, which is a common format used at professional meetings and provides an open forum for discussion.
ICRU will recognize presenters with a variety of awards. Specific poster presenters will be recognized for outstanding, distinguished, and special achievement in the following areas:
- Arts and Humanities
- Mathematics and Engineering
- Natural Sciences
- Social Sciences
These awards will be selected during FURF by a graduate student panel and focus on the effectiveness of the poster in conveying the completed work. Awards will then be presented at the event.
We can have up to 150 presenters and will have a poster space 6ftx4ft for each presenter. Please see the presentation resources section for how to make a poster.
This conference is co-hosted by the Iowa Center for Research by Undergraduates, University Honors Program, Office of the Vice President for Research, Office of the Provost, and the Graduate College.
