Outstanding Teaching Assistant (TA) Award
- Please consider nominating TAs for an Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award. This spring the Council on Teaching will administer 30 awards of $1,000 each.
- Nominees must have a formal appointment as a teaching assistant and have had formal student contact during at least one of the following semesters: Spring 2012, Summer 2012, and Fall 2012.
- Directions for preparing teaching assistant nominations can be found on the Council on Teaching website. Nominations are due to the DEO of the TA's teaching department by March 18.
- Contact the TA's department to determine which DEO to send materials.

Marion L. Huit and James N. Murray Awards for Exceptional Faculty
- Do you know of a faculty member who is focused on teaching and dedicated to students? Each year, Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) and Mortar Board Honor Societies team up to reward two exceptional teachers at the University of Iowa. This is a great opportunity to reward your teachers for their support and encouragement.
The Marion L. Huit Award is presented to a tenured faculty member, and the James N. Murray Award is presented to a tenure-track faculty member. If you have questions regarding the tenure status of your candidate you may contact the department or contact the candidate directly.

Nomination materials are due at the University of Iowa Honors Program 4th floor desk of the Blank Honors Center by March 2014 .
The University Honors Program Awards
- The Honors Program very much appreciates outstanding Honors teaching and one teacher is recognized each year with the Honors Teaching Award.
- The Honors Thesis Mentor Award is a new award that acknowledges the critical role honors thesis or project mentors perform.
- The Honors Advising Award is for advisors who distinguish themselves in advising honors students.
