Policies

When you receive your first UI Photo ID Card, you will be asked to sign a charge policy form and provide a photo ID to verify your identity.  You can download/view a copy, with instructions, of the charge policy form (pdf).  Valid forms of ID include Military ID, Government Issued  Driver's License and Passports.  ID  must be an original, photo copies are not accepted. 

If you choose not to abide by the charge policy, you will not be allowed charging privileges. If you have any questions concerning the Charge Policy, please contact the University Billing Office, 5 Calvin Hall, 335—0071

RETIREE CHARGING POLICY

Retirees and Emeritus Faculty may continue to use their UI Faculty/Staff Photo ID Cards for charging and library privileges as well as faculty/staff discounts if applicable (UIHC retired staff may obtain a UI Faculty/Staff Photo ID Card at either the UI Health Care Badge Center, C110 GH or Iowa One® Card Center, 3 Jessup Hall, after turning in their UIHC Badge).

UNDER 18 CHARGING POLICY

Students under the age of 18 will be denied charging privileges without parental consent. Forms for parental consent are available at the Iowa One® Card Center, 3 Jessup Hall, or you can download/view a copy (pdf).

NO CHARGE POLICY

If you DO NOT wish to use your UI Photo ID Card  for charging after card issuance, contact the Iowa One® Card Center, 3 Jessup Hall, 335-2716, to request "no charging." UIHC Badgeholders should contact the UI Health Care Badge Center, C110 GH, 384-7089.  If you have not yet received your ID card or badge, inform the office of card issuance that you do not want charging privileges on your UI Card or UIHC Badge before you receive the new card. 

PLEASE NOTE:  Whenever you receive a replacement card, you will need to inform the office of card issuance so that the no charging request can be transferred to the new card.  If you decide to reinstate your charging privileges on your card, you must notify the office of card issuance as well.

FINANCIAL DELINQUENCY POLICY

Students:

The ability to charge will be stopped if 1) the student's registration is restricted due to nonpayment, 2) a check has been returned as non sufficient funds to any department and placed on the U-bill, 3) any amount has been placed in collection.

Faculty/Staff:

The ability to charge will be stopped if 1) the amount past due is $100 or more, 2) a check has been returned as non sufficient funds to any department and placed on the U-bill, or 3) any amount has been placed in collection.
