IDIS/Web Features
As you are considering subscribing to IDIS/Web, we suggest that you consider the following features:
The complete index database, 1966 to the most current update, is available to search all at once.
No installation of software is required.
No additional hardware (e.g. CD-ROM or extra hard drives) is required for access to the index database and articles.
The index database and articles are available from any web-connected computer.
The database and article files are updated monthly.
Upon request, the number of concurrent users will be increased to accommodate teaching in classroom settings.
IDIS/Web Training Tools are available on our web site http://itsnt14.its.uiowa.edu/ .
Search results can be sent to you or a colleague using e-mail.
The IDIN Answers database (over 1000 previously answered drug information questions) is available to IDIS/Web subscribers.
Currently the IowaTeach Case Database is available to IDIS/Web subscribers on a trial basis.
Indexed FDA Advisory Committee and AHRQ documents are available seamlessly to subscribers. Hyperlink bookmarks are added to these documents for quick and easy navigation.
Future enhancements to the database including National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) Guidance Reports, and a new feature focusing on clinical practice guidelines will be available on IDIS/Web.
