- List the major characteristics of instructional games. How do these characteristics compare with/contrast to tutorials, drills, and simulations?
- What are different types of games?
- Why are games used in instruction? How are they typically used?
- What is the scenario? What are the 3 ways it can be related to the instructional goal?
- What are the motivational factors in games? How can they be manipulated by the designer?
- When we think of games, we also typically think of competition. Can you think of games that do not require competition? If so, why would you classify them as games?
- What is the definition of instructional computer games? How does this definition fit into a classification scheme that includes tutorials, drills, and simulations?
