  3. Why are games used in instruction? How are they typically used?

  4. What is the scenario? What are the 3 ways it can be related to the instructional goal?

  5. What are the motivational factors in games? How can they be manipulated by the designer?

  6. When we think of games, we also typically think of competition. Can you think of games that do not require competition? If so, why would you classify them as games?

  7. What is the definition of instructional computer games? How does this definition fit into a classification scheme that includes tutorials, drills, and simulations?
