Jostens Whole Book results
Congratulations to all who entered the Jostens Whole Book Yearbook Contest. Two books – Johnston HS and Pella HS – this year received our most prestigious honor: The Neubert Award. Thirty-three schools entered the Whole Book.

Cedar Falls' Heindl named HawkEye Photographer of the Year
Honor Heindl of Cedar Falls High School earned first place in IHSPA's HawkEye
Photographer of the Year competition.
Wrote the judges:
"Had the best overall variety of images, including the emotional rugby image."
Second place: Cassie Milks, Cedar Rapids Kennedy HS
Third place: Amanda Gabbert, Johnston HS
Honorable mentions: Zach Jensen, Johnston HS; Emmelie Rydder, Davenport Central HS
IHSPA Literary Magazine Contest results
Congratulations to the staff of Ink, from Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School in Miami, Fla.,
for earning first place in IHSPA's Literary Magazine contest.

REPORT: Journalism students scoring higher on ACT
A study released by the Newspaper Association of America Foundation tracked more than 31,000 students in 50 states and several foreign countries. The result: Journalism students have the edge in ACT scores, GPA and English scores. Click here for a PDF summary of the report.
